Video Conferencing: Acquainting Yourself with its Downsides

If you are going to look around you will certainly find a good number of technologies that highlight the field of communication. One of the most promising technologies ever made so far is the video conferencing (VC) solution – a kind of communication solution that offers a myriad of benefits and advantages to its users. Albeit the abounding benefits it offers, you need to know some of its downsides, too. Take a look at some of these below and in the end, you should be able to come up with a good decision.
Technical Issues
Using a VC solution is something that makes you experience some technical issues especially when there are some intermittent problems. With such kind of problem, you and other participants will only have to waste much of your time especially when you need to keep on repeating what you are saying so as to be understood by others. Misheard words and misread body language can create certain issues like faux-pas especially when you are dealing and communicating with other people with different culture.
Body Language
To be able to assess someone’s opinions or insights, looking at his body language is a very important thing that should never be ignored. This proves to be very true when you are communicating with other people using a VC solution. With an internet connection that’s unstable it will be very difficult for you to perceive body languages such as nervousness and shaky hands.  These are usually hard for the VC to pick up and they are all deemed critical when dealing with very relevant matters.
High Cost
One of the downsides of using a video conferencing solution is its high costs. Through the years, many companies and organizations have been using this kind of technology but the passing of time revealed that a good number of companies, businesses and organizations from all across the globe have simply stopped using it. Why? It is because a VC solution is an expensive communication solution that every business organization may not able to afford. To establish one, a business owner needs to invest on expensive equipment like hardware, software and others. You also need to subscribe to a highly stable internet connection to make sure that your communication with other people will never be tagged as poor in terms of quality.
With all these downsides, do you think it is a wise idea for you to make use of a VC solution to realize all your business’ daily operations?
